At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work.  The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday.  However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

 

 

Role: 
Based in the Honda Motor Europe (HME) Satellite office in Swindon and reporting to the Sustainability Compliance Department Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supply chain sustainability data collection, promoting sustainability, effective resource utilization, and responsible practices. Your mission is to design, implement, and monitor sustainable strategies and initiatives across our supply chain. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to drive positive environmental and social impacts throughout the global business.


This role is critical in advancing our commitment to sustainability and making a meaningful impact. 


This role requires occasional travel within the European Region. 


Main Responsibilities:

  • You will work with multifunctional teams across the business, collecting and evaluating supply chain and value chain sustainability data.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders across the business to coordinate and ensure compliance with relevant supply chain and value chain sustainability requirements.
  • Collaborating with regulatory affairs, government affairs, and external providers to understand, interpret, and act on new sustainability regulatory trends, identifying mandatory reporting elements and their impact on Honda.
  • Leading regional supply chain data collection and reporting.
  • Providing training and support to Honda entities to achieve sustainability compliance.
  • Developing metrics, conducting audits, and advising regional business to implement necessary risk management for compliance.
  • Proposing and planning supply chain sustainability initiatives across the business.
  • Working with Honda divisions to collect and prepare key data for internal and external communication.
  • Summarizing data and demonstrating evolution through robust gap analysis and countermeasure implementation.
  • Monitoring industry best practices and sharing new initiatives within Honda to improve performance, reporting both regionally and globally as required.
  • Representing Honda at relevant industry working groups and events.
  • Proposing department business plans, targets, budgets, roadmaps, and reporting progress.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience:
Required

  • A degree in a relevant field (e.g., sustainability, environmental management, business).
  • A strong grasp of supply chain and logistics concepts, including procurement, transportation, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Understanding of circular economy principles, ethical sourcing, and waste reduction.
  • Experience using data analytics to drive supply chain improvements and sustainability initiatives.
  • An understanding of regulation and its role in driving sustainable business practices.
  • Knowledge of supply chain sustainability regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to interpret complex requirements and explain them to a wide-ranging audience.
  • Ability to balance a structured, analytical way of working with flexibility and concern for fast-evolving critical issues.
  • Effective time management and prioritization of activities.
  • Highly computer literate and numerate with competence in MS PowerPoint and Excel.
  • A high level of attention to detail with excellent data analysis skills.
  • Willing to travel to other European Honda locations independently. 
  • Full Driving License to travel to between Honda locations.


Desirable

  • Project management experience or qualifications.
  • Experience in a procurement role.
  • Experience in preparing internal and external sustainability communications or working with communications teams.
  • Three years of experience working in a sustainability role, preferably with a multinational company.
