Background:

Currently Honda runs a variety of websites within the UK. These websites have inconsistent user experience, metrics and functionality. They also have separate hosting and technical arrangements.

 

This role will create a cohesive online experience for all users, across the entire Honda product range.  The objective is to reduce inconsistencies, reduce operational costs and improve marketing efficiency. The successful candidate will be heavily involved in implementation and or creation of new content and the setup of new business processes to aid team efficiency.

 

Role overview:

This new role will manage Honda UKs consumer facing websites:

  • All products - Cars, Motorcycles, ATV, Lawn & Garden, Marine and Industrial
  • Implement content to support product launch, on-sale and lifecycle digital activity
  • Ensure that all content is current, relevant, timely and accurate

The role will be an interesting blend of marketing, project management and digital responsibilities suitable for a driven and knowledgeable individual.

 

Main Responsibilities:         

There are five major responsibilities:

  • Hands on and project management of the implementation of central and local content
  • Implementation of “business as usual” processes
  • Implementation and integration of digital campaigns
  • Proactive and reactive content support

General responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient daily operation of Honda’s websites
  • Implementation of specific digital platform enhancement projects
  • Operational support
  • Utilise functionality within the content management systems to maximise performance
  • Management of the brand and product online presentation, and alignment to marketing strategy
    • Implementing provided new content and assets
  • Optimise the user experience, content and assets to maximise KPIs
  • Owner of the Digital Asset Management library
    • Keeping it well organised and up-to-date
  • Management of the Product Data across all divisions to ensure accurate and up to date pricing
  • Ensuring conformance to digital standards and best practice
    • GDPR etc
  • Align the UKs content with Honda’s European Head Office (HME)
    • Localising where appropriate
  • Daily management of SEO
    • Liaison with SEO agency

 

The ideal candidate for this role is a digital specialist who is comfortable in working on a broad variety of digital deliverables and thinks integrated at any given time. He/She is passionate about the latest trends in the digital arena.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

Mandatory

A digital specialist with broad marketing experience or understanding

  • Digital project management
  • Experience working with a content management system as an editor
  • The ability to interrogate ideas/concepts and work with the nominated agency to develop materials if required
  • An understanding of the ecommerce process
  • Ability both to work independently and ensure alignment to objectives
  • Good working knowledge of the following
    • Product launch campaigns
    • Web analytics
    • SEO best practice
    • Adobe Experience Manager
    • Accessibility best practice
    • Centralised marketing processes

Desirable


Specific car, motorcycle or power equipment product knowledge / experience would be useful

  • Confident in research and able to select appropriate methods to fill gaps in consumer and competitor knowledge
  • Confident briefing agencies, large and small
  • Technically adept, and confident discussing digital topics
