At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work.  The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday.  However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

 

 

Role: 
This role will play a key part in the management and planning of testing HFE’s core banking systems, associated subsystems and other key applications to ensure there is a consistent approach to testing across business areas whilst maintaining and using key tools to ensure effective testing, traceability and minimise risk.   The smooth delivery of new releases and enhancements, on time and on budget is a key objective of the Business Solutions Team in improving the overall efficiency, effectiveness of the business and usability of the system.


Reporting into the Production Support & Test Manager this role will work with the internal HFE teams, key 3rd parties including the solution providers and HME-ISD. This role will be responsible for managing the Release Management process, working with the Business Solutions Management team to manage and support testing of new releases and changes through to implementation into live.  Testing Management will range from testing advice, agreeing the test approach, and maintaining the HFE Test Strategy
An influential personality with an attention to detail to ensure that testing requirements closely match the business objective but are also flexible and robust enough to deal with changes in deliverables throughout a project lifecycle to ensure HFE objectives are achieved. 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain the overall HFE Test Strategy.
  • Develop appropriate Test Strategy, Approach and Planning for system changes.
  • Defining & maintaining test environment requirements.
  • Defect management.
  • Monitoring testing progress and reporting.
  • Manage Testing of any incidents and changes through to delivery.
  • Manage indirect reports through the testing process.
  • Support Release Management process with 3rd Party Suppliers.
  • Stakeholder engagement and management at all levels.
  • Create Test Reports for review and sign off before changes are implemented.
  • Management of business test packs ensuring that they are always maintained and up to date. to allow key testing to be undertaken and results delivered back to the business managers.
  • Review and propose changes to the Business requirements to ensure they are testable.
  • Provide weekly/monthly reporting on testing activities.
  • Identify potential tools e.g. automation for more effective testing and traceability resulting in a proposal for recommendation.
  • Develop departmental test approaches that fit in with HFE’s overall test strategy.
  • Review 3rd party release notes and communicate and manage any issues.


Qualifications, skills and experience: 
Required

  • Demonstratable experience in IT, with experience in an an equivalent Test or Analyst role.
  • Demonstrate experience of applying varied structured Testing methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; expertise in understanding, setting and managing customer expectations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various levels of management and users.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
  • Ability to communicate needs and schedules to IT and Users, as well as ensure that plans are in place and standards are adhered to.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills at all management levels.
  • Self starter that can be relied upon to prioritise, meet deadlines and ensure objectives are achieved.

Desirable

  • Ability to assist in managing internal and external development projects from inception to successful implementation. 
  • Solid understanding of the software development process, including requirement gathering, analysis/design, development tools/technologies, release/version control, testing methodologies and deployment management.
  • Experience of test automation.
