Role: 

Working closely with the Regional Operations Department Manager, the role will be responsible for leading, planning, and communicating to a team of Area Sales Managers, with a goal of achieving the new car volume and profitability targets. Building and maintaining strong manufacturer/dealer relationships are critical to the role as well as offering the necessary support and guidance towards the delivery of mutual objectives.

 

Main Accountabilities: 

  • Accountable for the achievement of the Regional new car dealer target (Retail, Motability and Corporate).
  • Accountable for the Honda Quarterly Sales Planning and Management Review, and later in implementation of HSOS to your ASMs and your Region.
  • Focus on sales mix, marketing activity and promotion of new cars within the Region.
  • Achievement of Sales CSI objectives and behind this responsible for creating a quality, consistent process to provide the best Retail Experience for our customers.
  • Accountable for the coordination, reporting and forecasting of Car Sales for the region.
  • Communication of national sales campaigns and consumer offers within the region.
  • Provide the ASMs with coaching and development and support for their future career goals at Honda.

 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Month in Month out (MIMO) delivery of the new car target.
  • Fully researched new cars forecast with an understanding of performance gaps and the ability to put countermeasure plans in place with the team and our dealers.
  • Forecast Accuracy within +/-5% of week 1 forecast.
  • Roll out and agreement of dealer sales pay-lines in line with Dealer & HUK objectives.
  • Liaise with Regional Team when required to ensure retailers are given adequate support to penetrate their local business market.
  • Advise and communicate best practice on marketing and promotional activities.
  • Ensure that new car regional marketing is integrated to national advertising plans and meets the marketing advertising code of conduct.
  • Assess and monitor the sales process with all dealers and create focus where necessary.
  • Integral to the planning and delivery of the regional dealer BDR process.
  • Ensure retailers have adequate product and sales training plans in place.
     
    Qualifications, skills and experience required: 
  • Proven understanding and experience of car sales retailing, retailer culture and structure.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Action orientated with the ability to consistently deliver results.
  • A good decision maker even under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Intermediate marketing and promotional knowledge.
     
    Previous people management experience is desirable whilst more important is the ability to demonstrate potential for people that support and instill Honda Core Values.
    You  need to hold a full valid driving licence
    Intermediate Excel is a must
