Role:

The P2P Process Lead has a key role in managing the performance of the shared service centre activities (SSC) and Honda’s relationship with its outsourcing partner(s) in the Purchase to Pay (P2P) work-stream.

 

This role will provide the vision, strategy and objectives for the P2P work-stream on a Pan European basis.  This will involve:

  • Developing and implementing the current year plan for the P2P work-stream
  • Contributing to develop the mid-term plan direction for the P2P work-stream
  • Monitoring the end-to-end process of the P2P work-stream on a Pan E basis
  • Identifying and suggesting process improvements; planning and implementing after manager approval
  • Communicating to Senior Management at Honda Motor Europe (HME), Branch/Genpo and SSC on the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes comparing to target.
  • Identify process requirements and ensuring coaching, mentoring and training needs across business and shared services are understood and met.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Ownership of Pan E P2P blueprint from the point of invoice to the point of payment.

  • Purchasing: ensure accuracy/timelines of requestion workflow management & business requestion / PO support.
  • Invoicing: ensure receipt and accuracy/timelines of processing and receiving invoices in line with Pan E policy.
  • Travel and expenses domain management
  • Payment: ensure payments are done in a compliant fashion, on time with relevant controls.
  • Master data – ensure master data is managed correctly for vendors, customers and bank details.

  2.Developing and executing the current year P2P work-stream plan: Develop and own an annual work plan which is aligned to the SSC/Work stream vision and strategy focusing on tangible deliverables.

  • Achieving and maintaining SLAs and KPIs. Special focus on ‘pay on time’ (POT), Error handling and process efficiency.
  • Ensuring internal customer satisfaction through the use of internal controls such as CSR.
  • Follow and adhere to P2P governance model conducting Branch periodic reviews and process reviews.
  • Continuous improvement – initiate, justify and manage transition of continuous improvements to the system, the process and to related roles & responsibilities in the SSC in order to further streamline and standardise processes.

  3.Change management:  Plan and coordinate transition activities for the P2P area that will result in higher quality, more standard operations whilst reducing overall operations costs.

  • Support Implementation of Honda’s new S2P platform. The ideal candidate will provide SME support to the project team and co-ordinate with the SSC during implementation, while exercising methodical practice in change and project management. Successful implementation will require strict adherence to timelines and ability to prioritise.
  • Provide insight and critical thinking across all P2P operational workflows.
  • Self-initiate change in line with reformation direction.
  • Transition management – responsibility for supporting and ensuring the end user receives documentation, training, user support and path for escalation.

  4.Maintain high level of risk management and compliance.

  • SOX – ensure zero SOX deficiencies.
  • Honda Corporate Governance – Ensure there are no critical findings in corporate audit.

  5.Pan E domain knowledge and training.

  • Responsibility for process documentation in a standard and coherent approach. Honda owns a high number of DTPs which need periodic review. DTPs need to apply to Finance / SSC staff but also to the wider audience.
  • Training – create and maintain Pan E training strategy and materials. Train users and address related issues in a timely manner.
  • User support – ensure super user knowledge levels are suitable for them to support front line. Additionally, support the users on second line basis.
  • Pan E P2P policies – Ownership of current P2P Pan E policies and further standardisation and implementation on a Pan E basis. Development of new policies that will address simplification and standardisation.

  6.Stakeholder communication and relationship

  • Considering the number of stakeholders, it is key to address them in a clear, cultural aware and role aware approach. P2P Operational Process Lead is required to ensure communications between the branch, HME and the SSC are effective and productive. The post holder will be responsible for the management of vendor relationships, including the effective and proactive monitoring of SSC performance for a large team working across two international centres.

 

Specialist Skills:

  • This role will liaise heavily with HME/IBM/Branches and other non-finance teams, therefore, must be able to demonstrate impressive influencing skills and have proven track records working with various types of people outside of core finance.    
  • Improve P2P operations across Europe, means to leverage the maturity level from actual Practising to Optimal, thorough the implementation of advance Technology solutions.
  • High knowledge and experience of SSC operations that can enhance Honda knowledge, competencies and level of controls.         
  • Propose, manage and deliver continuous improvements and Finance Transformation to improve P2P Operations in Europe.

 

Knowledge Qualifications, skills and experience required(including competencies and attributes/desirable:

  • Significant experience in one or more sub-process within Procure to Pay including business requirements gathering.
  • Significant experience in SAP especially around Master data and Accounts Payable.
  • Experience in complex projects working at a Pan European or Regional level.
  • Broad functional knowledge in Procure to Pay having proven experience in influencing, implementing change in a Pan European environment.
  • Experience in leading and facilitating process driven workshops within multiple levels of the organisation.
  • Team player able to work effectively at all levels of Honda with the ability to influence others and move towards consensus.
  • A Broad enterprise-wide view of Honda and understanding the linkages and impacts of strategy, process capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance on business performance.
  • Ability and willingness for European travel is important.  The position is based in UK Head Office.
