Reporting directly to the Head of Motorsports, this challenging and demanding role will carry accountability for the creation, communication and implementation of a business strategy to fully support the operation and the activation of Honda racing activities ensuring the Motorsports dept provides a clear and accountable contribution to the European Business.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Support racing operation dept management in the creation of all racing budgets for both Auto and Motorcycle Sport functions
  • Manage all aspects of the administration of the above budgets within HME guidelines and processes
  • Support racing operation dept management in the creation of all racing contracts for both Auto and Motorcycle Sport functions
  • Manage all aspects of the administration of the above contracts within HME guidelines and processes
  • Engage with all Branches and Distributors to utilise Honda Racing as an asset, motivation and promoting the Brand including, but not limited to hospitality programmes, rider/driver appearances, show machine resource management.  Provide MSD departmental support to the business through motorshow, sponsor event etc attendance
  • Responsible for the recruitment and management of temporary staff as and when required
  • Ensuring the Motorsport administration dept secures a significant return on investment for the HME business
  • Management of motorsport related events within HME to further promote racing activities to HME staff whilst also boosting motivation.
  • Leadership of the HME Motorsport Administration dept through active engagement of Honda Philosophy
  • Management of outstanding relationships with all Honda businesses , official bodies , promoters , race teams, support agencies, Honda Motor, HRC, sponsors
  • Performance of the overall HME business as part of the management team of the Corporate Communications and Motorsports Division

Knowledge, skills and experience required (including competencies and attributes):

  • Experience of operating in a role, with both strategic and operational accountability for a business unit
  • Able to demonstrate clear leadership and influencing skills in a business environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • High degree of alignment with Honda Philosophy
  • Capability to lead and motivate a team, direct and indirect reports, to challenge substantial change
  • Results focused with a proven ability to set and achieve ambitious targets
  • Comprehensive understanding of business finance and legal/licensing work
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding/enthusiasm for Motorsport activities desirable
  • Freedom to travel in order to influence emerging markets “at the spot”
  • Customer enthusiast
  • 2nd Language an advantage
