The Marine and Accessories Product manager is overall responsible for the marketability, profitability and competitiveness of all Marine product categories. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to working with Euro Sales and Honda Power Product (HPP) in Japan to develop new products for the company. The manager’s direct reports to the Head of Marketing Product management.


Considering existing Line-up, the Manager will be responsible to maximise the Volume and profit for all Marine engines, rigging and accessories and to utilise Market analysis, Forecasts and Sales Analysis to support Price positioning. The manager will also support Honda Motor Europe Logistics (HME-L) for the forecasting and price positioning for Rigging and accessories.


Considering current and future Line-up, they will build and develop new ideas based on their industry experience and regular contact to support Boat Builders with Rigging and controls to give the best results.


They will need a high level of technical knowledge to be able to understand and develop installation and rigging of boats with the latest equipment including Electronic Drive by Wire, NMEA2000 and associated products.

To support the European Boat builders to achieve the best results with Honda engines and associated Rigging equipment.


This is a vital role within the European Power Products team responsible for Marine, Rigging and accessory sales and product development, coordination and the delivery of Power Products commercial objectives for the future midterm plan. The role exists to develop existing and new products within for Marine products.

Main responsibilities:

  • Analyse, implement and monitor Market Potential, Product positioning, Pricing and Promotional activities to develop Sales for the Product categories in responsibility
  • Review best practises from the industry to develop & implement a Pan European standard.

    Create the right tools and develop processes to support boat builders and dealers across Europe (e.g. Rigging Guide)

  • Create as accurate as possible Markets forecasts and Honda Sales forecast and ensure consistency across monthly, yearly Sales Forecasts and Budgets.
  • Create a proactive working environment and partnership with boat builders to develop market opportunities and product solutions.
  • Liaise with Seihan (Production and Sales planning team) and Supply Management to ensure optimum use of resources to ensure smooth run out and run in of new products
  • Liaise with HME-L to solve future stock quantities and pricing for rigging
  • Collect, analyse market sensing and intelligence and propose Plan for new Product Solutions,
  • Deliver our routes to market with “product information tools” that are timely and appropriate for needs of the Branches, distributors.
  • Develop with communication department appropriate PR and Pan European marketing messages and materials.
  • Marine, rigging and accessories products related homologation & compliance in conjunction with HME-CRA (Honda Motor Europe Certification & Regulatory Affairs).

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Group facilitation skills, manage and lead SED (Sales, Engineering, and Development) groups.
  • Well-developed project management skills to manage new product group development and line up extension.
  • Time management skills and ability to follow up tight development schedules.
  • Excellent understanding of the boating industry and requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail with proven organisational skills coupled with a working knowledge of the Power Equipment industry and knowledge and understanding of customer product requirements
  • Analytical skills and understanding of market figures and feedback.
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate technical documentation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of branch and dealer operations
  • Knowledge of European Marine market
  • Freedom to travel extensively in order to understand markets “at the spot”.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to quickly build strong business relationships and influence at all levels. Straight talking, open and honest approach. High level of personal integrity and standing.
  • Understanding of business finance including price breakdown..
  • Broad commercial knowledge and ability to operate at management level
  • Experience of a multi-franchise and/or retail sales network.
  • Getting things done.
