At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work.  The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday.  However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

 

 

Role: 
Reporting to Global Mobility Section Manager, this role will be supporting the effective Management of expatriates – Honda Motor (HM) expats from Japan HQ and IAP (International Assignment Programme) from European Branches and Genpos (Honda legal entities) – across the European Region. 


The role holder will be supporting the Global Mobility Operational activities related to Japanese Expats in conjunction with Global Mobility Section Manager, managing day to day queries and processes.

As a member of the HR team, you will also be involved in HR activities and projects as required, taking an active role in delivering and developing an exceptional HR service to business.

Main Responsibilities: 
HM Expats:
•    Manage expats’ expatriation, onboarding, on assignment, repatriation operational processes 
      o    Apply for expats Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), Tier 2 General and visa extension.
      o    Provide Welfare support for Japanese expats and their family.
      o    Manage all housing matter for Japanese expats (e.g. Support house search, closing housing contract, negotiation with the landlord, process payment etc)
      o    Manage Japanese expats’ expense claim process
      o    Support the Japanese expat’s tax & NI matter working with external tax advisor
•    Support UK Immigration Sponsor duties and audit.
•    Liaise with HM for expat’s policy, payroll, tax and welfare matters.
•    Updating the Honda in-house system, PJA Information box (Share point Information).
•    Keeping up to date about immigration matter for all required countries for inbound and outbound employees.
IAP Expats:
•    Manage monthly payroll run for European expats
•    Manage the European expat’s tax & NI matter working with external tax advisor
•    Liaise with local HR managers at destination country as necessary
•    Responsible for UK Immigration Sponsor duties and audit.
•    Apply for expats Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), Tier 2 General and visa extension.
•    Provide Welfare support for expats and their family.
•    Manage all housing matter for IAP expats.
•    Process invoices for HME’s expats’ welfare matters.
•    Define, prepare and monitor the annual expatriates’ budget, comparison actual cost, statutory account report.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience: Required/Desirable
Required
•    Ability to undertake analytical work with good numerical skills. 
•    Ability to interact well with people at all levels within the organisation with excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
•    Language: English and Japanese mandatory.
•    Excellent MS Office skills (especially Excel).
•    The role will suit someone who is well-organised and motivated to learn. High attention to detail is essential.
•    Comfortable working in fast paced international business with matrix structures, understanding of cross-culture differences and management practices highly desirable.
•    Works well under pressure and tight deadlines; planning and prioritising time efficiently whilst maintaining quality. 
•    Strong team player with an enthusiastic, Can-Do approach.
Desirable
•    Previous experience in global mobility
•    Understanding of immigration rules, regulation, and requirements.
•    Understanding of UK payroll and tax regulation.
•    Project management skills with multiple stakeholders management experience
•    GMS-T Qualified professional is an advantage
•    Additional European language is an advantage
