Role: 

Reporting to the Franchise Department Manager, The Franchise Manager is part of a team responsible for the development of franchise strategy and implementation of franchising targets.

 

The role is a fundamental part of the long term development of the Honda Franchise in the UK and continued growth in volume and profitability within our Power Product networks.

 

Proven skills in understanding dealer capability required for each product sector dealer management, business management, risk management combined with the ability to think strategically about long term business objectives and manage network change.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analysis and achievement of the HUK franchising and market area targets in support of Honda commercial objectives.
  • Make formal business case presentations that demonstrate Honda’s business opportunities within the market, company strategy, product strategy and infrastructure support to prospective and existing dealer candidates.
  • Identification, analysis and evaluation of prospective Dealer appointments to ensure they meet or are capable of meeting the agreed criteria of locations defined within the franchise strategy.
  • Input into the Development of HUK Power Products network planning and franchising strategy.
  • Identification of new ‘non-traditional’ dealer partners to modernise the Power Products dealer networks.
  • Ability to negotiate with prospective investors and operators at a Senior Level and define within the Franchise Application Document the terms of representation and actions required from the operator, including timescales and responsibilities.
  • Work closely and maintain good working relationship with the Power Products field team and  liaise with Power Products management team at the appropriate time to enable successful appointment and induction for new and existing partners
  • Provide regular detailed progress updates to Franchise Department Manager.
  • Prepare Franchise Application documentation ready for presentation to Senior Management.
  • Manage prospects, maintain contact with exiting partners and new appointments to ensure smooth transition of representation.
  • Identify and manage leverage buyouts, satellite location and other distribution channels as required

Qualifications, skills and experience required: 

  • Ability to credibly negotiate at all levels externally and within Honda
  • Previous experience of Franchising desirable
  • Strong financial skills, and understanding of business planning. (e.g. understanding of balance sheet, trading history, P&L, business plan formats)
  • Demonstrable communication skills and a team player.
  • Proficient PC skills
  • Good Strategic awareness.
  • Diplomacy and Negotiation Skills
