At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.
Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home 2 days per week, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.
Role:
This is a fixed term contract for 16 months, for a maternity cover.
Reporting to the HR & Administration Department Manager, this role will be responsible for providing a professional generalist Human Resources service to Honda Motor Europe Head Office, the UK Sales Branch and Honda Financial Services, all located at our Bracknell Office.
The role will be involved in all aspects of HR Operations delivery with a key focus on partnering with the business on Associate Relations.
Whilst this is a UK based role, as the European Head Office, this role supports with Pan European activities and will be part of project groups for wider HR projects across the region.
Main Responsibilities:
- Business Partner with Managers to support with all Associate Relations cases from investigation, note taking and decision making (Disciplinary, Grievance, Performance Management, Absence Management, Flexible Working). Prepare formal documentation such as invite and outcome letters for these cases.
- Provide guidance and structure to managers and associates regarding employment regulations, policies, procedures and practices.
- Keep up to date with changes in Employment Legislation and its impact on the business.
- Ensure any employment legislation changes are updated in our Honda Policies and consider continuous policy improvement.
- Be a point of contact for associates and the business on associate matters, such as any general HR issues or queries for both permanent and non-permanent associates.
- Manage all Family Friendly Policies and processes to include maternity, paternity, flexible working requests.
- Support with new starter onboarding such as running HR Induction training and probation training for managers. Whilst reviewing content regularly to ensure it remains current and fit for purpose.
- Support all HR activities through the employee lifecycle (e.g., benefit updates, retirement, off boarding processes)
- Support with the annual Appraisal process at a Pan European level.
- Attend interviews to support with the recruitment as required.
- Responsible for HR administrative processes (e.g. management reports, annual leave reporting, absence reporting, data required by external parties) ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Take responsibility alongside the HR Operations Lead for the monthly payroll process.
- Ensure the input of accurate HR data on the HR database (SAP Success Factors) in a timely manner.
- Take ownership of the contract management system, ensuring all contracts are current and communicating with the contract owners as required.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
Required
- Significant experience as an HR Generalist.
- Experienced and confident in UK Employment Law and relations management.
- CIPD Level 5 or experience at that level.
- Clear & effective communicator with all levels of an organisation
- Able to plan and prioritise effectively to ensure deadlines are met whilst maintaining quality.
- Flexible and adaptable in supporting all parts of the wider HR team.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
Desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and experienced in collating data and presenting to others.
- Previous experience using SAP.
