At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work.  The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday.  However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

 

 

Role:

 

The role is an integral member of the Finance Operations team. We are looking for a dynamic, action orientated leader who understands the roles of a finance professional and is able to translate their business requirements into technical solutions.  This role will be key to implementing best practices within our end to end financial eco system, driving seamless financial accounting and reporting.

 

Responsible for managing all SaaS based Finance Systems and Finance elements of Masterdata. This role serves as the business lead for the enhancement of Honda Motor Europe’s ERP Software and other systems owned by the Finance Department. Ensuring engagement with business process stakeholders across organisations and geographies this role will provide administrative and technical leadership, acting as the SME for day to day operations of finance system and master data management.

 

Main Responsibilities: 
Operations 

  • Lead a team of SME’s responsible for the day to day operations of the Finance Systems and Finance Master Data Management. 
  • Manage the finance master data maintenance process.
  • Manage the daily support, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Finance Systems landscape, including routine and regulatory changes and updates.
  • Recommend updates, upgrades and maintenance of systems using knowledge of departmental operations and needs.

Process Owner

  • Contribute towards the constant improvement in the quality and accuracy of the finance systems and the finance master data to ensure uninterrupted business continuity.  
  • Liaise closely with business stakeholders to ensure processes are understood and meet business needs. 
  • Create and maintain documentation of system based processes and procedures.
  • Develop quality metrics to monitor and report on defects and corrective actions related to Finance Systems. 

Data Quality

  • Define data standards, establish related business rules and processes to enhance data quality, integrity and timeliness, though enhanced validations and transparency.
  • Develop quality metrics to monitor and report on data quality.  

Training/Knowledge sharing

  • Provide regular and timely training on all finance systems to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop training materials that can be utilized effectively, utilizing both self serve and delivered methodologies.

Strategic Projects 

  • Provide technical and process expertise and guidance to support project development.  

Governance and Compliance

  • Provide governance and oversight, establish/enhance existing controls for system based financial transactions.  
  • Co-ordinate preparation of required materials to meet Finance Systems SOX and Internal Audit requirements.  
  • Work closely with IS and business stakeholders to ensure system accesses are controlled and understood.

Relationship Management

  • Work closely with Finance, IS, BPO and other business stakeholders to ensure functional requirements are understood and meet business needs. 
  • Lead in the development of systems best practices across functional and geographical areas, ensuring successful end user adoption of new technologies and processes.

Change Management 

  • Work closely with IT, Projects, Business Stakeholders, BPO and other Process Owners to manage the demand for changes and ensure that the impact of change requests are fully understood.

Team Management

  • Build a strong team with relevant expertise, act as trainer and mentor for team members, develop team members skill set through training and identifying development opportunities.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required/desirable:

  • Functional and Technical expertise in SAP 4 Hana and SAP ECC6. Other system experience such as Coupa, Cadency, Concur, Hyperion, Tagetik are desirable.
  • Strong leadership and management skills coupled with full commitment to results achievement & accountability.  
  • Experience of Shared Services Center or related contact center operations. 
  • Leadership responsibility managing teams and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
  • Strong customer focus with highly consultative approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to speak to technical-level teams.
  • Problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making skills to influence management as well as internal and external partners.
