At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work.  The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday.  However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.
 

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home 2 days per week, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

 

Role:
The Distributor Sales Specialist will support the Honda Power Products business expansion in the European region. The successful candidate will be responsible for sales performance through high profile distributors and will be responsible for applying Honda's sales strategy across a number of markets.

With a customer driven focus, the Distributor Sales Specialist will develop a close business relationship with distributors, ensuring full understanding and support of the market. It also requires close follow up on overall sales process from order to delivery to ensure the highest satisfaction levels. 

Regular travel within Europe is required as part of this role and as an active member of the sales team, the successful candidate will take part in several projects to make Honda’s offerings more dynamic, as well as motivate and support the distributor business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop score cards to analyse and assess Distributors commercial performances, including Volumes, Market Share and Profit.
  • Challenge commercial performances of the entities by proposing plans considering all commercial aspects (Dealer Development, Sales, Marketing).
  • Follow up on budget setting and achievements, identifying all issues and proposing countermeasures.
  • Reflecting Sales and Marketing Honda Motor Europe (HME) Strategies on the strategies developed at Distributors; conduct necessary updates on them when needed to gain full benefit.
  • Negotiate with Distributors to strive for incremental Volumes and Profit.
  • Ensure key Honda Principles and Governance are applied at Distributor level, including financial risk surveillance and brand management matters.
  • Apply appropriate HME pricing/grading strategies to support profitability, volume and brand image of Honda in each territory.
  • Be the interface between distributors and Honda for all topics, including quality, aftersales, technical problems, etc.

Qualifications, skills and experience:
Required

  • Sales management experience in a complex and international environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness, with the ability to identify issues and propose effective countermeasures.
  • Ability to set up plans, implement and influence the actions to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively at a high level, with strong verbal and written English language.
  • Results-focused, with a proven ability to achieve or exceed sales and profitability targets.
  • An ability to lead and manage change, and to inspire others to drive towards common goals.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Desirable

  • A good understanding and knowledge of different cultural approaches.
