At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work.  The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday.  However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home 2 days per week, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

 

Role:
Reporting to the Supply Planning Section Manager, this supply chain role is essential to maximising sales within the region to achieve budget targets. It provides the valuable link between Honda Motor Europe (HME) and the factories in Japan and China.

With the current dynamic supply situation affecting the automobile supply chain, this position will ensure that orders for all cars for the EU region are placed in line with the latest factory constraints. Clear communication of any changes in supply to all affected parties is an essential element of this role as is ensuring that latest order is reflected correctly in the HME systems (TOPS, SAP & ESI).

The successful candidate will also communicate with distributor markets and manage their demand in line with the approved HME budget.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create a monthly order for all EU Automobile supply which meets the requirements from Sales and satisfying all supply constraints.
  • Work closely with the supply planning, sales, and the Japan office to ensure any conflicts in supply and demand are resolved effectively.
  • Negotiate constraints for Japan & China supply to provide appropriate production flexibility.
  • Co-ordinate ordering for European distributor markets, including dispute resolution.
  • Monthly review of the latest demand for distributor markets including conflict resolution.
  • Manage master data to control model ramp-up and run-out.
  • Represent HME at the weekly review meeting with Japan.
  • Support with the development of new processes and systems where necessary to deliver improved communication.
  • Ensure Orders are reflected correctly in HME ordering systems.

Qualifications, skills and experience:
Required

  • A confident communicator, able to negotiate supply and demand between factories and HME.
  • Excellent PC skills - in particular advanced Excel.
  • High level of numeracy and accuracy of data and to ensure quality of information.
  • Well organised, calm under pressure with the capacity to manage several tasks at once and prioritise effectively.
  • An interest in supply chain management.

Desirable

  • An interest and/or previous experience in an automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of SAP systems.
