At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work.  The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday.  However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

 

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

 

 

Role:

Honda Motor Europe is offering the opportunity to join a fast-paced Corporate Communications and Motor Sports Division responsible for both automobile and motorcycle PR, social media, corporate and internal communications, and numerous racing activities. 

 

We are offering the right individual the exciting and dynamic position of Motorcycle PR Specialist as part of a team responsible for external communications relating to all new motorcycle model launches, ‘lifecycle’ PR activity and the operation of Honda’s social media channels. 

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the operations of the Corporate Communications department during a busy period of product launches, across event planning and delivery of PR materials. 

 
Main Responsibilities:

Support for planning, delivery and results reporting of Pan-European Journalist Test Sessions, including:

  • Coordination of partner agencies (event management, photography, video) to provide all necessary operational and technical requirements for successful running of events.
  • When required, attendance at events in Europe – up to 15 days per month – to assist with event operation. 
    • Management of agencies to provide all journalists’ on-site requirements.
    • Planning of video and photo content.  
    • Welcome of journalists and guidance with daily schedules.
    • Preparation of all AV equipment for product presentations.
  • Creation of pre-event risk assessments and insurance submissions. 
  • Logistical support for onward delivery of vehicles across Europe post event.
  • Cost monitoring.  
  • Collation of media coverage and production of event reports. 
  • Support for delivery of PR resources for all MC products and events. 
  • Support with the creation of technical product presentations (Powerpoint) for delivery at riding events. 
  • Proof-reading and checking of all press information including technical specifications – long form content, summary documents, briefing notes and Q&A’s. 
  • Uploading of press releases to Honda’s media portal.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Must have relevant previous experience in an event organisation and/or communications role.
  • Valid Passport for occassional travel.
  • Full UK Driving Licence, with experience of driving in the EU preferred 
  • Experience in the motorcycle sector strongly preferred. 
  • Experience in handling confidential information.

 
Key competencies and personal qualities:

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications, in particular Powerpoint and Excel.
  • Deadline-orientated and able to work under pressure.
  • Relationship management skills, able to work with PR teams and agencies at a number of different levels of expertise across Europe.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a diverse groups of individuals from all nations across Europe and in Japan. 
  • Ability to prioritise and plan effectively, with strong attention to detail.  
  • Project planning, management and logistics skills, an eye for detail.
  • Native-level command of English; strong writing skills preferred. 
  • Ability to deal with confidential information.
  • Positive, outgoing, enthusiastic attitude. 
  • Proactive work ethic.
