Role:

Honda Motor Europe’s Corporate Communications & Motorsport division is wholly dependent upon a strong relationship with branch PR & Social Media contacts to deliver its overall aims. This role is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of that relationship, using strong communication and clear data and insight to support discussions and requests.

 

The position will also act as a support to the Communications Section Manager, working across automobile and motorcycle divisions to deliver operational efficiency and strong process tools to ensure media relations and social media activities are delivered to an outstanding level across the European region.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Act as liaison with all branches – be the first point of contact for the escalation of requests
  • Deliver regular planning communications to branches (e.g. weekly PR planner, new PR and social content alert emails).
  • Create robust meeting calendar, ensuring open lines of communication with branch teams on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to support campaign delivery, budget planning and overall effectiveness
  • Understand ‘front line’ PR and social media processes, spread best practice and highlight areas where strategic investment is required to support and develop Honda’s presence in print, broadcast and  online media
  • Understand branch bottlenecks and develop plans to address them
  • The guardian of PR and social media campaign measurement and evaluation, working with Honda’s European evaluation agencies to identify cross-platform reporting opportunities (social, My Honda etc) and develop insights to assist stakeholders with business decisions.
  • Work with Section Manager to highlight and evaluate progress towards Automobile SP PR and Social Media plan goals and make recommendations for future activities
  • Work with Section Manager to create a robust plan for input into European motorcycle ‘MOR’ (Management Operating Report) activity.
  • Work with Section Manager to evaluate the effectiveness of PR and social media assets (written and visual) and make improvements for future activities
  • Champion the use and development of wider evaluation activity (e.g.  Sysomos social listening data etc..) to further develop communications resource
  • Work with wider team to ensure maintenance of accurate budget management and reporting
  • Work alongside the corporate communications, digital marketing, paid media teams and their agencies to ensure PR and social media activities are fully reported, and learnings are integrated into future activity.
  • Support European Social Media Section Manager with management and administration of social media management technology, and track adoption across European markets

 

Skills requirements:

  • Knowledge and understanding of front line PR and Social Media activity preferable
  • Excellent relationship management skills, comfortable working across different markets using a variety of communication techniques.
  • Strong understanding of the importance, use and development of evaluation methods, both in terms of output (coverage) and process.
  • Comfortable with the management and use of multiple data sources and technologies to create reports and recommendations
  • An ability to distil complex data into actionable insight for branch teams
  • Understanding of wider context that Honda European business sits in
  • Knowledge of the changing use of digital and social media – bring ideas from new areas to improve activities
