At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.
Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home 2 days per week, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.
Role:
The Business Analyst acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and the Information Systems function, translating business needs into clear requirements for new and enhanced technology solutions.
The role is responsible for analysing business operations and processes to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement or automation. The role holder will support business-case development, process redesign, solution definition, testing, implementation and ongoing system enhancement.
Working with internal stakeholders and external service providers, the role will help ensure that business requirements are clearly defined, documented and aligned with agreed standards.
This role is offered on a contract basis for a duration of 6-months.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support business stakeholders in developing business cases and identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation and technology-enabled change.
- Gather, analyse and document business requirements, ensuring stakeholder needs are accurately captured and communicated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build effective relationships with project stakeholders and act as a key liaison between business functions, the Information Systems team and external service providers.
- Analyse existing business processes and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, effectiveness and user experience.
- Support the translation of business requirements into functional solution designs, working closely with Functional Analysts and technical teams.
- Develop and maintain high-quality business analysis documentation, including requirements, process maps, user stories and other project artefacts.
- Support solution testing activities, including user acceptance testing, test case development and validation of outcomes against agreed business requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, requirements-gathering sessions and stakeholder discussions to support project delivery.
- Support procurement and supplier-selection activities, including the development of Request for Information and Request for Proposal documentation where required.
- Contribute to post-implementation reviews, system enhancements and the continuous improvement of business analysis practices.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
Required
- Demonstrable experience of business analysis, including gathering, analysing and documenting business and user requirements.
- Experience of Request for Proposal, tender or supplier-selection processes.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess business operations, processes and information and identify practical opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to define user requirements using appropriate techniques, including user stories and story maps.
- Ability to challenge business cases and requirements constructively, using evidence and sound judgement.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to different audiences.
- Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to senior stakeholders.
- Experience of planning, leading or facilitating stakeholder and supplier workshops.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with business stakeholders, Information Systems colleagues and external service providers.
- Ability to work independently, organise priorities and take ownership of agreed deliverables.
- Curiosity and willingness to develop an understanding of business activities and integration points across the organisation.
Desirable
- Experience within the automotive industry and an understanding of the associated business environment.
