At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work.  The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday.  However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.


Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of all written and visual assets to support automobile, energy services and internal communications activities. Working with a roster of agencies and creatives, the role will take the key requirements of the business and engage with the appropriate external team to create outstanding content.


The position requires someone who is comfortable managing a wide range of suppliers and stakeholders and has a passion for delivering outstanding content that is in line with ‘Advanced & Sporty’ positioning of the Honda automobile brand in Europe.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the briefing, management and delivery of all Honda written and technical assets.
  • Ensure key technical concepts are suitably explained throughout all Honda media materials (press releases, press packs, speeches and presentations etc..).
  • Project manager of all live creative content briefs for automobile PR and Social Media activity.
  • Lead the management of the Pan-European ‘hondanews’ media website, aiming for outstanding information provision, useability and ease of search.
  • Lead the management of a stream of content for Honda’s MyHonda & MyHonda+ connected car applications and adapt content to maximise benefit of new application features for customers.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with PR agencies to ensure agreed media messaging is reflected throughout all written assets.
  • In coordination with PR Communications Section Manager and relevant members of research and development, ensure all visual and written assets are correct and understandable from a technical standpoint.
  • Work with translation agency and Communications Administrator to ensure timely delivery of translated written assets to European branches.
  • Lead the development of Honda’s quarterly digital internal ‘Challenge’ magazine and regular ‘Challenge Update’ emails, working with an external agency to communicate key business themes to the European Associate population.
  • Create a strong measurement culture to demonstrate the clear impact of internal communication activities across the region.
  • Coordinate with business divisions and branches to ensure internal communications requirements are met.
  • Amplify key communications and announcements from Honda Motor, Japan (e.g., President’s New Year speech) and Honda Motor Europe senior management to ensure understanding throughout the associate population.
  • Work with the Section Manager to ensure adherence to budgets for product communication activities.


Qualifications, skills and experience required/desirable:

  • Experience of working in a front-line PR team preferable.
  • Excellent written and editing skills with experience of website management (comfortable with content management systems and discussing improvements with web development agency) – journalistic background would be preferable, but not vital.
  • Strong understanding of the creation of impactful written content for use by European media.
  • A passion for creating compelling visual content, with the ability to inspire external teams to create great work.
  • Strong grasp of key technical concepts, able to extract key information from technical and R&D colleagues and make understandable to wider audience.
  • Project planning, management and logistics skills and an eye for detail.
  • Creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Understanding of wider context of Honda, and the particular business situation of each of its divisions.
  • Relationship management skills, able to work with PR teams and agencies at a number of different levels of expertise across Europe.
  • Knowledge of key important European automotive media outlets and their needs.
  • Fluency in European languages other than English is a bonus.
