Role:

This role is responsible for monitoring, reporting, analysing and projecting Honda’s performance, market trends and competitor activities, taking account of internal factors, market trend data and economic conditions.

 

The most important aspect of this role is the accurate and timely input of data into the COSMOS system. By doing so, the role contributes significantly to achieving sales forecast accuracy by optimising the mix in harmony with the budget plan and the market opportunity.

 

The role reports to the Business Planning Manager and will be responsible for supply availability, and the early identification and communication of supply risks and opportunities.

 

Main Responsibilities:

Sales Forecasting

  • Analysis to provide market forecasts, economic outlook and social trends in particular to identify market opportunities and threats.
  • Input an agreed accurate sales forecast at MTOC level to Honda Motor Europe (HME).
  • PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) of sales and market forecasts to explain gaps and propose potential countermeasures

 

Business Planning

  • Evaluate Honda opportunity within the market over the next three years at sector and business type level
  • Manage split of budget plan and mid-term plan volumes by business area
  • Issue relevant reports related to HME-UK’s sales performance to key stakeholders on both a regular and ad-hoc basis.
     

Marketing Support

  • Effectively communicate daily registration and market performance across the business enabling an “at a glance” evaluation of the current position.
  • Maintain a database of key information including, detailed market analysis, economic forecast and conditions, Honda sales performance, model launch and campaign results.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Keen to learn and align with the Honda Philosophy
  • An enthusiastic person who seizes the initiative and is prepared to challenge the norm
  • An analytical mind with the ability to translate the analysis into business proposal.
  • An obsession for accuracy.
  • Goal-orientated and striving for continual improvement
  • Well organised, calm under pressure with the capacity to manage several tasks at once and prioritise effectively
  • Confident presentation skills on a 1-10 people basis
  • Significant experience in the automotive sector or in a ’third-party sales channel’ environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills
