At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.
Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home 2 days per week, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.
Role:
As part of Honda’s European Customer Operations, we have an exciting opportunity available to lead our Business Performance activity across Europe, for both our Automotive and Motorcycle business. As Business Performance Lead, you will play a key role within the Retailer Business Performance management team to monitor and strengthen profitability of Honda’s Automobile and Motorcycle Retailer networks across the European region. The department serves Honda retailers and country offices (Branches) providing business information, financial data analysis and performance insights, as well as regular and ad-hoc reporting to Honda Senior management in Europe and Japan.
The Business Performance Lead will manage the pan European implementation and maintenance of products and systems that will collate and produce business information. You will also provide analysis that will help define Honda’s future strategic approach, as well as aid the local field managers prioritise activities to ensure Dealer performance is maintained and improved, through the generation of financially informed data-driven insights.
In this role, you will build on your existing experience of the motor industry, gaining wide experience of Pan European retailer activity and performance, in both Automobiles and Motorcycles, providing a strong foundation for future career development.
This role will require occasional travel to our European branches.
Main Responsibilities:
Business Management:
Be the central point of contact for all business management activities from Branches, HME Auto and Motorcycle divisions as well as the composite platform supplier.
- Manage the supplier to ensure timely production of monthly composite reports that provide data and information regarding the financial performance of our networks at retailer, national and Pan-European levels.
- Review and interpret retailer financial data within monthly composite reports.
- Oversee the implementation of new systems and developments to support business information.
- Ensure strong quality control systems are maintained to validate accurate and insightful information.
- Responsibility for the annual budget to deliver the programme.
- Interpret complex financial and operational data to provide analysis and summaries of performance of networks and present to Honda Senior Management at regular meetings, providing advice and recommendations to drive profit improvement and highlighting opportunities and risks to the network viability.
- Work with Branch management to extend dealer composite to a greater number of dealers, and to improve data quality where already established. Additionally support generating insights with this data to facilitate improvement in retailer performance.
- Provide training and support to Branch and field teams to ensure full understanding, and engagement of composite.
- Collate and produce high quality reports and dashboards of activities and performance of Honda Auto and Motorcycle retailers from European markets to identify opportunities, set targets and track performance.
- To provide information and analysis to support Honda Branch and Area Manager activity.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
Required
- Experience of dealer operations, financial performance measurement and interpretation of retailer accounts/composite data.
- Expert in Composite systems with experience of design and system improvement.
- Strong understanding of dealer financial composite reporting, including the ability to process, validate and explain financial data
- Highly enthusiastic and self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to problem solve and apply continuous improvement.
- Ability to effectively manage relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent PC skills, in particular Excel and Power Point.
- Ability to clearly communicate at different levels within the organization.
- Ability to organise and prioritise work to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Logical thinker with a methodical approach and excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to travel within Europe.
Desirable
- Previous European Head Office experience to support understanding of cross-market collaboration and the impact of regional insight.
