At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work.  The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday.  However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

 

 

Role: 
Based in the Honda Motor Europe (HME) Satellite office in Swindon and reporting to the Sustainability Compliance Department Manager, your role will include monitoring, collection, analysis, evaluation, and preparation of data on material sustainability aspects for both current and future obligations. You will be responsible for reporting and presenting the results to management and key stakeholders.


This role is critical in advancing our commitment to sustainability and making a meaningful impact.

 

This role may require occasional travel within the European Region. 


Main Responsibilities:

  • Collect and verify data from Honda entities and their selected suppliers to ensure accuracy for mandatory reporting and to monitor regional performance.
  • Work with Honda divisions to collect and prepare key sustainability information for internal and external communication.
  • Summarize data and demonstrate evolution through robust gap analysis and countermeasure implementation.
  • Monitor upcoming sustainability legislation to identify mandatory reporting elements and their impact on Honda.
  • Monitor industry best practices and share new initiatives within Honda to improve performance, reporting both regionally and globally as required.
  • Based on the analysis of relevant sustainability legislation, make recommendations on priorities, and develop a roadmap for achievement.
  • Represent Honda at relevant sustainability working groups and events, provide formal reports of the meetings, and carry out necessary actions.
  • Propose department business plan activities, targets, and budgets, and report progress.
  • Prepare for and support internal and external audits.
  • Present outcomes to management and key stakeholders.


Qualifications, skills and experience:
Required

  • Knowledge of sustainability regulations and reporting requirements, along with an understanding of sustainability initiatives, principles, and practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competence in MS PowerPoint and Excel.
  • High level of attention to detail with excellent data analysis skills.
  • Willing to travel to other European Honda locations independently. 
  • Full Driving License to travel to between Honda locations.


Desirable

  • Qualified in environmental or sustainability related discipline (education or experience).
  • Project management experience or qualifications.
  • Experience in preparing internal and external sustainability communications or working with communications teams.
