At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work.  The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday.  However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

Role: 
This role provides the valuable link between our worldwide Honda Factories, Sales Divisions and Logistics Centres.

 

The role holder will support with ensuring the timely availability of Honda Power Products (Lawn Mowers, Robotic Mowers, Generators, Outboards and more) from our global Honda Factories. Providing the highest level of service to our customers whilst ensuring the efficient management of logistic flows. 

 

You must have a strong decision-making ability and gain Market and Commercial awareness so you can support with both purchasing and managing goods (European Stockholding) on behalf of Honda Motor Europe (HME).


Main Responsibilities: 

  • Consolidate monthly customer sales orders and forecasts in preparation for production order revision and submission.
  • Calculate and process monthly production orders, analyse sales forecasts, delivery timings and logistics flows. Before submitting purchase orders on behalf of HME to the worldwide Honda factories and production facilities.
  • Ensure sales divisions and customers are kept aware of any changes to production plans and delivery dates and negotiate goods allocations where necessary.
  • Support with the monitoring and management of European stockholding with a focus on optimising stock level targets and reducing old stock. Negotiate sales campaigns with sales divisions if necessary.
  • Ensure that all databases are kept up-to-date and consistent with latest data.
  • Correct system errors quickly to minimise impact on supply chain and identify root cause and countermeasures.
  • Review of existing processes under the banner of continuous improvement to ensure business process efficiencies and future supply change management proposals.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience: 
Required

  • Must be an undergraduate, undertaking a degree, looking for a placement as part of their studies.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A good level of numeracy skills with a high level of accuracy to ensure data and information provided is correct.
  • Ability to organise work to ensure that deadlines are met.
